NASA is seeking compact point-of-care (POC) technologies that can be used for medical diagnosis, monitoring, and symptom treatment based on clinical laboratory analysis of biological samples (such as blood and urine). The analysis of biological samples using diagnostic devices with small mass, volume, and power consumption allows for the continuous diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of astronauts' health in space.
